Our first night (1/6/09) - Vegas
As you can imagine, finding decent hotels that accept dogs is a bit of a challenge. We spent a night a few weeks ago making phone calls to have some idea of where we could stay. Our default is always Marriott because they’re pretty standard and most Residence Inns accept dogs. However, they charge a non-refundable $100 pet fee. So Justin suggested we try some of the strip hotels just to see. Well, none of them take dogs so I googled “pet friendly hotels in Vegas.” Every website said the same thing…the most pet friendly hotel in Vegas is the Four Seasons!!! I was not sad to hear that. So we called and it turns out that they don’t even charge a pet fee! So although the room was a little more expensive, it ended up being the same price as staying at the Residence Inn and paying the pet fee. Sign me up! So we spent the first night in the beautiful Four Seasons, which I didn’t know but is actually inside of Mandalay Bay. The top few floors of the Mandalay are all the Four Seasons rooms. Not only are they pet friendly, but as soon as we walked into our room, someone knocked on the door to give us dog bowls, a dog bed and cookies for Sergeant. It was a great way to start off the trip but bad because I am now completely spoiled! We didn’t even end up going out to dinner because I was working until about 7:30 PM. So we ordered room service, I took a bubble bath and was happy as a clam! Tomorrow we head to the Grand Canyon. Here are some pictures of our quick stay in Vegas…
